Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is an Aesthetician?
A: Aestheticians are licensed professionals that are trained to perform specialized skin treatments and aid in improving and maintaining healthy skin. They are educated and skilled in performing skin treatments that include facials with therapeutic massage/lymphatic drainage, skin rejuvenation treatments, enzyme, organic and chemical peels, waxing (temporary hair removal). They’re also trained and specialize in mechanical treatments such as microdermabrasion, microcurrent, often known as non-surgical face tightening and lifts, ultrasound/ultrasonic and other effective and beneficial treatments. Aestheticians analyze and can help treat a wide variety of skin issues and conditions such as acneic skin, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, aging skin & other skin concerns and will recommend results-driven treatment options, exclusive skin care products and techniques to help clients reach their individual needs and optimal skin wellness. Aestheticians are also able to recognize more serious skin conditions and refer their client to a dermatologist or other medical professional when necessary.
Q: What is a Facial Treatment & why do I need to get one?
A: Facials are essential for Skin Health due to our diets, hormones, lifestyle choices and stress. In addition, our ability to recover from damage lessens as we age so taking care of our skin is crucial. It is estimated that up to 90% of the signs of aging are linked to environmental factors like sun exposure and pollution. Facials are a way to deeply cleanse and detoxify the skin, to rid the pores of build-up of dirt, debris and toxins and infuse essential nutrients to help keep your skin in optimal health to prevent diseases, disorders, and further breakdown that are the effects of internal and external causes. A facial is a treatment targeted to improve skin conditions and overall health and wellness of the skin. They are procedures that vary depending on skin type, condition and individual needs.
Facials accelerate cell turnover and provide maximum absorption of nutrients in treatment products. Consistent treatments and an individualized at home Skin Care Regimen is essential to achieving your skin goals. Consistent Facial treatments will improve skin hydration levels, smoothness & brightness, texture, refinement of pores and overall skin tone.
Q: What kind of Facial should I get?
A: All clients receive a complimentary consultation and skin analysis at the time of first appointment. If you are not sure which type of facial treatment is most appropriate for you, it can be determined at this time.
Q: How often should I come in?
A: Each client will have an individualized step-by-step treatment plan and times between visits will vary depending on the condition and concerns of each individual. Each treatment is customized to each client’s skin type, condition and skin care needs. This will be discussed with your Aesthetician during each visit.
Generally, for maintaining optimal skin health & wellness, every 4-6 weeks between visits is recommended along with a customized at home care regimen.
For mature skin, acne, hyperpigmentation or sun damage, every 2-4 weeks between visits is recommended along with a customized at home care regimen.
